This municipal airport serves the city of Brantford and surrounding Brant County. This airport started as a RCAF air training base known as No. 5 Service Flying Training School in 1940. The airport changed hands from Federal to Municipal in 1970. In recent years the airport was in danger of being shut down by the city however citizen groups changed the course and have made repaving of the runway and new hangers possible.
There are 2 800 meter runways and 1 1500+ meter runway.
In recent years the airport has attracted hundreds with it's late-August airshow. The airport is staffed to handle border crossings and serves businesses such as Solarship Inc., Brant Aero and Brantford Flight Centre.
