The Valentine, George Lundeen, Carmel California - Sit-by-me Statues on Waymarking.com

Many of the statues in this category are by the Lundeen Family, and this particularly evocative piece is by George W. Lundeen, titled "The Valentine"

It's at the corner of Sixth and Lincoln in downtown Carmel California, right where you might pick up a bus to the beach.

Here's a closer view of the faces of the couple

I'm told they have just exchanged a valentine, although I don't remember seeing one. There is space for people to sit on either side of the couple. It's number 2 in a limited edition of 21, executed in 1990.
