The Catholic Directory website gives the Sunday Mass time as 8:30 am. (
visit link) [Though there does seem to be a little confusion about the spelling of the name of the community - Rankins Springs v Rankin Springs.]
With a low-angled, green corrugated iron, hip roof, and 60 cm eaves, with double-hung windows on the side, this looks like a regular community hall, except for the metre high wooden cross on the highway end gable over the covered entry. There are a couple 'whirly-birds' to remove excess heat from the roof space.
A printed sign on the side of the wood clad building reads:
"St Kevin's Church
Rankins Springs
Opened and Blessed by
Rt. Rev. Mgr. J.McKenna. P.P.VF.
November 20th 1955
J. Tiernan Pastor"
* There is a 'Dinkum Dunny' at the rear of the premises *
