Sandwell Green is the oldest public green space in Kanata. It is bounded on the west by the Alice Wilson Woods, on the north by Leacock Drive, on the east by Cosgrain Court and on the south by The Parkway. In 1964, The Parkway was the only connection between the beginnings of
Bill Teron's Kanata and the outside world.
There are no recreation facilities in Sandwell Green. In the 1990s, there was playground equipment in the park. This green space is frequently used for large annual gatherings such as the Kanata-Carleton Cultural Festival in May and the North Kanata Picnic in July.
The park is 1.51 hectares or 3.72 acres in size. The posted co-ordinates mark the criss-crossing of the paths across the park.
