This National Register listing contains three properties, and was added in 1986. The property was originally built for Dr. H. G. "Pat" Murphy, head of the Agronomy Department at Okla. State Univ. At the time of placement on the Register, the home was being prepared to be used as office space. We were unable to determine during our visit what occupies the buildings. There is no signage to indicate commercial use.
The main house faces west on S. Monroe Street. This is a two-story home with a full basement, constructed of native sandstone. There is a steep gabled roof and a second story cross gable above the entrance. The windows are a combination of double hung and casement, and are set asymmetrically around the house. The use of stone and wood gives this house its Cottage styling.
East of this house, facing W. 5th Street is a two-story sandstone garage with two individual wood garage doors. The second floor is a small apartment. To the east of the garage is a small one-story cottage. There are two wood entrances facing W. 5th and the 6/1 windows are wood-framed. The current use of these buildings could not be determined.
