Originally called Green Valley, the town took its current name from the government official who authorized the first post office. Zane Grey lived in the area and used it as the setting of several of his books. The town is also home to the world's oldest continuous annual rodeo.The building is made of yellow fired brick. It has a peaked roof covered with asphalt shingles.
