"World War I Memorial
In a Memorial Service held on Friday March 7, 1919, the Wauchula Civic League planted camphor trees here on the grounds of the Wauchula High School to honor the memory of those local soldiers who had given their lives for their country.
On Memorial Day 2017, the City of Wauchula, The Kiwanis Club of Wauchula, and the American Legion Post #2 renewed and rededicated this site to preserve its history an purpose for future generations."
