"The Fifth Kingdom" by Kristian Edwards can be found on North Quay in Douglas.

This sculpture takes the form of three seats made from Manx grantie and was designed by Kristian Edwards as part of the Quayside Public Art Programme.

There is a nearby information board which carries the following information below a representation of the Douglas Development Partnership multi-coloured logo:
"The Fifth Kingdom"
Artist: Kristian Edwards

These three seats were designed by local artist Kristian Edwards as part of the Quayside Public Art Programme. The abstract Celtic cross design with the light shining out of the centre is inspired by the Isle of Man being centrally located in the Irish Sea between the other four kingdoms of the British Isles. They are cut from Manx granite, traditionally a very important stone on the Island, used as corner stones in many our of buildings. The artist wanted to give this important and beautiful stone a contemporary twist, hence the lighting which also ties these pieces in with the revamped surroundings of Douglas Quayside.

Douglas Development Partnership is grateful to the Borough of Douglas
and the Isle of Man Arts Council for their contribution and support for this project.'
