Market Square, located in the 100 block of North First Avenue is an area where farmers could bring their produce to town for sale in the early days of Durant. This building was built in 1924 originally as restrooms for the busy trade area. Later, the building was used as a concessions area (cafe) to serve the town visitors. The building and its ghosts are a Contributing Property to the Durant Downtown Historic District.
This is a one-story brick building with a hipped roof, and a wrap-around porch, supported by wood posts. Windows have 1/1 hung sashes. Old ghost signs are painted on the brick which read: "CHILI - HOT LUNCHES" and "LUNCH - COLD DRINKS - EVERYTHING CLEAN".
