De grot van Nerem, ook genaamd de Lourdesgrot, was een initiatief van de pastoor en zijn parochianen ter herinnering aan het 100 jarig bestaan van de parochie.
Zij werd ingehuldigd op 19 Juli 1942. Naast de grot werd in 1943 ook nog een kruisweg ingehuldigd (waar je ook nog stukken van terug vind). In 1946 werd de grot ook nog verrijkt met een beeld van Bernadette.(text from GC132TJ, archive)
De kapel vertoont diverse dankbordjes uit de oorlogsjaren 1943 en 1944.

The cave of Nerem, also called the Lourdes Grot, was an initiative of the pastor and his parishioners in memory of the 100th anniversary of the parish.
It was inaugurated on 19 July 1942. In addition to the cave in 1943, a crossroad was also inaugurated (which you can also find parts of). In 1946 the cave was also enriched with a statue of Bernadette (text from GC132TJ, archive)
The chapel shows various thank-you plates from the war years 1943 and 1944.
