Before the 'Literary Institute and Returned Soldiers and Sailors' Club' was built in 1924, there was a School of Arts here, but that was demolished in 1923 after it began to 'show its age'. WW1 Memorial

The Historical Marker is just to the right of the double-door entry to what is now the local health clinic. The oval, black-backed bronze marker reads:

   West Wyalong Heritage
       [Shire Logo]
    Literary Institute
    Returned Soldiers'
      & Sailors' Club
	Opened 1924

* RSL = Returned Services and Leagues [Club], a latter term, that evidently replaced the nomenclature of 'Returned Soldiers' and Sailors' Club' *

Address: 186 Main Street, West Wyalong, 2671
