I spotted one of the more unusual clocks I've encountered while waiting for the Link Light Rail at Pioneer Square Station underground. The clock is one of two located in the terminal platform and in my opinion, was difficult to read and take photos of. I was able to locate a website (link below) that highlights more information about the clocks and tells us:

The clocks are on the wall at either end of the platforms. The bus tunnel was completed in 1990. Carol Valenta from Sound Transit provided me with the following information: "The two clocks in the Pioneer Square station were designed and built by artists Kate Ericson and Mel Ziegler. The north mezzanine clock is made of materials used to build the tunnel and stations - polished marble and granite, steel I-beams, electrical wire, galvanized pipes and metals. The clock numbers are hand tools used by workers who built the tunnel. The clock on the south mezzanine is made out of materials found while the tunnel was being built - old cobblestones, cast-iron pipe, rough granite and brick."

Thomas D. Erb from Electric Time Company kindly informed me that they supplied the movement for the clock.

I found the materials utilized (polished marble and granite, steel I-beams, electrical wire, galvanized pipes and metals) to be difficult to see. In addition, the hands of the clock are thin and painted red and also difficult to tell the time. The hours are also thin black lines and also difficult to read. I could see these clocks utilized in better lighting and not in the underground part of the station where the lower-lit lighting doesn't promote them adequately.
