The corner stone on the right at the entrance points to the year of construction - 1757 - of the landmarked merchant and residential building.
The house was built by Hendrik Bavink and his wife Catharina Zijtsema, who run a grocery store here. The trading company "Coenraad Zijtsema & Compagnie" introduced linseeds from the Baltic as well as spirits, coffee, rice and tobacco.
Two-storey brick building, cornice made of molded bricks, muzzles with animal masks made of sandstone, gable with inscription cartouche.
