"Dans la Marne, le Mausolée de Bourgogne en Champagne recherche des mécènes pour restaurer la Chapelle Funéraire Faynot. Depuis 2013, des passionnés sont à son chevet. Retour sur l'histoire d'un monument hors du commun.
La chapelle funéraire Faynot a été construite et décorée par les plus grands. Architecte, peintre, céramiste, ou encore sculpteur parisien… tous ont participé à la construction de ce monument d'exception de la fin du XIXème et début XXème siècle.
En restauration depuis cinq ans
Ce mausolée, fermé au public jusqu'en 2012, est depuis 5 ans en cours de sauvetage grâce à une équipe de passionnés. La restauration des mosaïques a été confiée à un expert. Les vitraux, le nettoyage et l'isolation de la chapelle ont quant à eux été réalisés par les bénévoles de l'association.
Le travail de restauration est titanesque. Aujourd'hui, l'association de sauvegarde du mausolée recherche des financements pour continuer.
Il faudra sans doute encore 10 ans avant que les travaux de restauration soient terminés."

In catering for five years
This mausoleum, closed to the public until 2012, is since 5 years in course of rescue thanks to a team of enthusiasts. The restoration of the mosaics was entrusted to an expert. The windows, the cleaning and the isolation of the chapel were made by the volunteers of the association.
The restoration work is titanic. Today, the Safeguarding Association of the mausoleum is looking for funding to continue.
It will probably be another 10 years before the restoration work is completed. "
