Constructed by the WPA between 1938 and 1940, an interesting gazebo stands on the site of the 1900 Delta County Courthouse in Cooper, TX.

At first glance, one might expect that this gazebo was constructed from components of another building, perhaps a church, but it's all original. The roof and cap are metal, held up by brick pillars (which could be bricks from the old courthouse), with a concrete base and steps. One the northeast side, a concrete enclosure has the "Work Projects Administration 1938-1940" plaque, along with the old cornerstone. The new courthouse is just a few blocks west of here.
