The George W. Bush Presidential Center stands on the Campus of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. It contains both the Presidential Library and Museum which chronicles the life and times of our 43rd President. Groundbreaking for the complex took place on November 16, 2010 and was completed in 2013. The complex was dedicated on April 25, 2013 with President Barack Obama in attendance along with former Presidents Jimmy Carter, George H. W. Bush, and Bill Clinton. The museum contains artifacts from President Bush’s childhood, his time a managing general partner of the Texas Ranger Major League Baseball Team, along with his time a Governor of Texas. There is an extensive collection of documents and artifacts dealing with the September 11, 2001 Terrorist Attack. Like most presidential museum, The George W. Bush Museum features a replica of the Oval Office as it appeared during his administration. Here visitors can have their photos taken while sitting behind a replica of the Resolute Desk. The George W. Bush Presidential Center is 207,000 square feet, making it the second largest Presidential Library, behind only the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.
