The Hood County Tablet - 17 Oct 1940:
All on one floor, each room is well ventilated and lighted. New shades were being put up Tuesday when the Tablet reporter visited the building.

Hardwood floors are used throughout. The Home Economics room is well equipped with convenient cabinets, large work tables, stoves and machines.

The Vocational Agriculture room was gay with banners Tolar Future Farmers have won, and the trophy cabinet contained evidence that they put out some good judging teams.

In trend with the modern idea in education, there is a communications system over which Supt. Farmer can communicate with each class room from his office.

"A contract has been signed for Butane gas, which will be installed the last of this week. Seventeen new heaters have been ordered and a 1,000 gal butane tank. However, the building has installed flues for wood or coal stoves in the event officials ever wanted to return to their use.

The auditorium has a seating capacity of 500, with room for still more seats. A large stage with dressing rooms, inclined floor and good lighting make another unit in the splendid new structure.
