The Wheeler Federal Building at 224 W. Evergreen is a large 2-story red brick building with a flat roof, constructed from 1917-1919. There are two entrances facing south which have 8-step staircases. A large handicap ramp has been added.

The single windows (except flanking the entrance where they are double), are tall units with horizontal panes, and tilt-out window openings. The second floor windows have a continuous stone sill/belt course. Large cast stone medallions are located above the main entrance on the second level.

Once housing the post office, this building is still owned by the City of Duncan and several departments such as the Bureau of Investigation and Emergency Management office here. This building is Item No. 2 on the District nomination, and was placed on the National Register in 2007.
