The municipal cemetery of Berg (Tongeren) has been expanded by 1.24 hectares. Space has been added for 1,300 graves, an urn field with 400 places, a columbarium with 90 places and a sprinkling meadow. The cost of this expansion: 785,000 euros tax money. The park-like character of the existing part has been extended. The main path structure got lane planting, the whole area is surrounded by a green buffer and all paths are paved. There are also water points provided and trash cans and benches are placed. This cemetery is the central graveyard for large Tongeren, because the cemeteries in the villages and the old cemetery have an extinguishing character. There can only be buried there as far as space is still available.
