NORMAN LEE MALONE (NOTCHE) was born on July 23, 1927 and died April 30, 2004 at the age of 76. Norman married his sweetheart Mary Ann Uloth Malone on Sept. 15, 1950. He was the father of three wonderful children, Scott Andrew Malone, Georgia Malone, Todd Michael Malone and the grandfather to Meghan Elizabeth, Charlie Monroe, Jennifer Lynn and Jessica Anne. He is also survived by one brother James Vernon (Paddy) Malone and wife, Peggy along with numerous nieces and nephews. He attended Eliot Elementary, John Marshall Junior High School and left Jeff Davis High School in Houston, May 1945 to join the Navy during WWII. He was a Gunners Mate 3rd Class serving on a number of ships including the destroyer USS Woodworth and the Battleship Alabama. Mayor of the cities of Lomax and La Porte, TX for 18 years. Employed by Shell Chemical Company for 11 years. Because of his love of children he left Shell and became a school teacher. He was a teacher, supervisor and administrator until his retirement from the Pasadena ISD after 28 years, the last 17 years as Vocational Director. Norman was raised a Master Mason on Sept. 23, 1950 in Gus Brandt Lodge in a part of Houston known as Podunk. Past Master and with Endowed Membership of both Deer Park and La Porte Masonic Lodge. Worshipful Master of Deer Park Lodge #1362 in 1985-1986. Affiliated Past Master of La Porte Lodge #857, District Deputy Grand Master 1999 and member of a number of appendage bodies of the Masonic Association including Pasadena R.A.M. #455, Kennedy Commandery 61 in Baytown, TX and Knights of Templar in Houston. Member of York Rite and Scottish Rite as a KCCH Valley of Houston, Arabia Shrine of Temple of Houston, Fraternal Order of Eagles La Porte and Order of Eastern Star with dual membership in Deer Park and LaPorte. Spirit and Soul will be consigned to God from whence it came. Memorial Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 5, 2004 at the Sylvan Beach Pavillion in La Porte. In lieu of usual remembrances, donations may be made to the Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, Shrine Burn Hospital, or church of your choice. Paul U.
