Although British style telephone boxes exist in Guernsey they were originally operated independently by the States of Guernsey.

Traditionally the boxes on Guernsey were always painted yellow. However in 2002 the service was privatised and Cable and Wireless took over and painted all the boxes blue.

There have been a number of takeovers of the service since and in 2009 these telephone boxes at the bus station were painted yellow just like they used to be when Guernsey Telecoms was state-owned.
