The Palisades are a rock formation of dacite columns on the west side of Ayance Canyon. There are three interpretive signs at this view point, one on the palisades, one on travel across the Cascades, and one on Mt. Rainier. There use to be a view of Mt. Rainier but the trees have grown up blocking the view.
