Cemetery is on the property of the Daniel Boone Homestead and contains the graves of brothers Samuel and John De Turk as well as other members of their families. John was the third owner of the house on this property, the one that originally belonged to Squire Boone and his wife. Squire was the father of Daniel Boone who was born on this property and lived here until he was 16. John De Turk, a Pennsylvania German farmer, purchsed the property in 1770 and lived there till his death.
Samuel lived on an adjacent farm and his house stands today near the entrance of the Boone Homestead.
I could not find any direct records for the service these brothers provided during the Revolutionary War but there is a DAR number assigned to John. Both tombstones bear the inscription of service in the War and both have the Revolutionary War markers next to their gravesites.
