Heritage Plaza - Durant, OK - Municipal Parks and Plazas on Waymarking.com

Heritage Plaza is located at the northeast corner of Main and 1st Streets in downtown Durant. It is a narrow area where a former building once stood. The area has 30 inch square pavers, with several shade trees and two picnic tables.

A rearing horse sculpture is located here created by Jack Ousey. A concrete cube with a slanted top has a bronze seal of the City of Durant on the front, and a dedication plaque on the top. The dedication reads:

HERITAGE PLAZA Honoring Durant and Bryan County for the gift of our heritage (Names of 7 Rustin families) Dedicated as part of the City of Durant Main Stret Improvements 2004
