The ship's guns were built in the seventeenth century by the Burgerhuys brothers, who mainly made clocks and artillery in Middelburg.
Both cannons were brought up by fishermen off the coast of Westkapelle. The first in 1986 and the second in 2011. The guns are affected by wind and weather.

In de 17e eeuw leefden bronsgieters met de naam Burgerhuys in Zeeland, die de traditie van hun voorouders voortzetten. In hun bronsgietwerkplaats in de refter op het Abdijplein in Middelburg goten zij klokken, vijzels en geschut (gegoten). Daarnaast hebben de gieters Burgerhuys ook sierkanonnen gemaakt, waarvan er nu twee op het Abdijplein staan. Eén op de naam van Michael Burgerhuys en één op de naam van zijn zoon Johannes Burgerhuys.

De scheepskanonnen zijn in de zeventiende eeuw gebouwd door de broeders Burgerhuys, die voornamelijk klokken en geschut maakten in Middelburg.
Beide kanonnen zijn voor de kust van Westkapelle bovengehaald door vissers. De eerste in 1986 en de de tweede in 2011. De kanonnen zijn aangetast door weer en wind.
