This over 1000-foot long boardwalk was officially dedicated to the City of Coos Bay on July 16, 1994 as noted on a dedicated plaque inside one of the interpretive shelters. Coos Bay is located inland from the Pacific Ocean and is a very busy coastal point for commercial liners traveling north and south along the coast.
