The plaque is located in a small green area that formerly had a fountain at 322 N Main St. in Laurinburg. Over the years, the fountain was repurposed for plantings. In November 2008, the Laurinburg Revitalization Development Corporation placed a plaque honoring a good and faithful public servant. Ms. Slaughter was a staunch and ardent believer in a strong downtown making a vibrant town.
