"Las Trampas Regional Wilderness is home to many wild animals such as coyotes, mountain lions, bobcat, foxes, and deer. Watch along the trails for their tracks and droppings.

Many smaller animals can also be seen if you look carefully. The Alameda whipsnake and the red-legged frog which live in this area are both federally listed as threatened.

As human population increases in the region, wildlife will come under ever increasing pressure from our activities,

Hopefully, this impact will be offset by continued special conservation efforts and careful use."
