The mural is fairly simple, with the historic Parker County Courthouse superimposed upon a white background with two peaches -- note the Downtown Cafe in the background at left. A blue ribbon, with "2nd Sat in July" and "Parker County Peach Festival" in reddish-orange letters, wraps around the courthouse and the peaches. Partially obscured is a basket of peaches at the lower left, and the author's signature is at the lower right, "John Stout 09©02 817-599-7802".
A plaque on the front of the building references the mural, and provides some history:
Weatherford Downtown Cafe
(c.1900) 101 West Church Street
A drug store was operated on this site for over a century under various names including W.B. Miller and Howard Rea. By 1900, this one story brick building appeared on local maps. Pieces of the original soda fountain equipment were discovered in the basement during the cleanup effort in 2001. A mural promoting the Parker County Peach Festival was completed on the exterior east wall in 2002.
