It's pronounced "ON-slow", and the memorial is near the Henderson County War Memorial at the northeast corner of the courthouse grounds, 100 E Tyler St, Athens, TX.

The memorial is of gray granite, donated by Tomlinson Funeral Home and placed in 2014, with the flag of the United States of America at the upper left, complemented by a photo medallion of SSG Airheart at the upper right. The text reads:

Airheart was also Audie Murphy's foxhole companion during the war, but when Murphy went onto film stardom afterwards, Airheart returned to his native Trinidad (west of Athens) to resume his life as a farmer. He died in 2001, and is buried in the Trinidad Cemetery.
