Hilda E. Engelage (nee Dieckmann) was born on March 1st, in the year 1880. She passed away on 11 of September 1980. She was married to Herman W. Engelage.

In January of 1880 the construction of the Panama Canal began, and in March, her birth month, 1st town to claim to be completely illuminated by electric lighting (Wabash, Indiana-March 31st) and flour rolling mill was patented (March 25).
