Der Löwenkopf des Brunnens deutet auf die ursprüngliche Funktion des Ortes als Gerichtsplatz hin. Das Wasser aus dem Brunnen ist Trinkwasser und schmeckt tatsächlich sauer, denn es hat einen sehr hohen Gehalt an Kohlensäure (über 2.000 mg/l) und Eisen.
