Near the Visitor's Centre, and a large interpretative sign about 'How a Lawn can Heat a Classroom' is an angled piece of basalt column, with a s shaped bronze plaque attached. It reads:

Sunday, and Saturday: 9:30am - 5:30pm
Monday to Friday: 9am - 5:30pm
Access: Being at 1,000 metres elevation be prepared for it to be a bit cooler than the plains of western Sydney. Plenty of free car parking; and Entry is FREE. It is quite well sign-posted.
[While about 5 years before the Botanic Garden opened at Mount Tomah I would quite regularly be headed up to the northern Blue Mountains on many weekends, to descend into the canyons near here, the year that it opened I changed by job/career, and gotten married, so with different priorities it took a while for me to get back and check out this delightful spot.]
