The castle Hohensolms was build in the year 1350 by the Earls of Solms. It is placed on the Ramsberg near Hohensolms. It was partially destroyed during the 30-year-war in the 17th century and was rebuild afterwards. Together with the rebuilding of the castle, a conversion to a dwelling house happened. Between 1924 and 1936 the castle is used by the Christdeutsche Jugend and since 1952 it is owned by the Evangelische Kirche Hessen und Nassau. It is now used as guesthouse, mostly for the youth (therefore the name Jugendburg).
The castle has 7 buildings separated in three blocks. The building are used for bedrooms and conference-rooms.
Parts of the area can be visited but the buildings are closed to the public.
