Adjacent to Addington Station Antiques on Highway 81 is a war memorial with a great deal of information concerning the wars.

This war memorial is dedicated to all who have served, but specifically highlights Korea, WWII and Vietnam. Along the walkway to the memorial pavilion is a group of 9 or 10 plaques, each telling a story of a battle, or war memory.
WWII June, 1944 On June 5th, 1944, the US 101th Airborne Division prepared for the airborne invasion of Normandy. Soldiers were issued M422 combat fatigues, M1A1 Thompson sub-machine gun, M1911 Colt .45 pistol, M36 equipment, Musette bag, gas mask, rigger made pouches, T-5 parachute and reserve. The 101th would drop 6,700 soldiers behind enemy lines before the massive Allied beach assault on the cost of Normandy.
