It is about 4 km from the community of Tarana (population less than 100), on Lowes Mount Road. The Bathurst Diocese has had some financial difficulties in recent times, so maintenance has been a low priority, and there had been moves to sell the property, but the Churchyard Cemetery is Heritage Listed.
Some of the locals are related to original owners of the land that donated to the Church, are helping out in minor ways.
