This volunteer Brigade was established in 1939 [as shown by the unit sign above the roller doors], and has a large and functional Colorbond shed. The 'main' section is a low-angled hip roof covered in 'Mist Green' Colorbond, with roller doors to the west. To the north is an adjoining single bay width Colorbond shed, with a single roller door (all in the same khaki green), but a little taller, to allow for the Canter fire fighting vehicle. On the southern side is a small annex for the Office and refreshments.
No one was around when I took the first photos while in the area, but on coming back through Tarana there was a crew there, so I was able to get a photo of the Rapid Response 4wd vehicle.
The local paper, the Lithgow Mercury, had an article in 2017 about this Brigade, and it taking on 17 new volunteer members, some being the children of current volunteer members, making a total of just over 35. (
