At the time of the East Grinstead Monopoly board being published (2007), East Grinstead only had a single station (at the listed coordinates). This was the mainline station, which is part of the Southern Rail network. In 2018, trains to London Bridge station were replaced with Thameslink trains.
In 2013, the Bluebell Railway heritage railway line was extended to East Grinstead. The mainline serves electric trains from the north, and the Bluebell serves steam trains from the south.
Although each station is owned by different organisations, have the same gauge and are connected. This means that trains can be transported from other heritage lines across the country.
The mainline contains platforms 1 and 2. The Bluebell is platform 3.
