Vietnam Veterans Memorial Tree
In 2000, Douglas County planted the pink dogwood tree as a living memorial to all Vietnam Veterans. The pink dogwood symbolizes sacrifice & shed blood. The memorial dogwood is planted in a direct line formed by the Eternal Flame, the US Flag & the word 'Honor' over the Courthouse door, symbolizing the duty, obedience & sacrifice of the Vietnam soldier to his nation.
