This is a red-brick, Gothic-styled Church built in 1916, with the southern transept added in 1932. There had been a Churchyard Cemetery here until 1964, when it was carefully cleared, to enable the Rectory to be built. [Details from Foundation Stone and plaque on the Sundial.]
From a Historical Marker that is mounted on one of the brick pillars at the entrance from the intersection of The Avenue and Forest Road is the following information:

A wooden Church was built in 1856. The first
Church of England in St. George. It was used as
the Lord's Forest Church of England School until
1876 when the Public School was opened. A brick
Church was built in 1889, The churchyard was the
only cemetery in the Hurstville Municipality and
was closed in 1905.

There is also a 'Contemporary Service', at 11am after the 9.30am Family Service and Sunday School. There is also services for the Chinese in the parish. At 9.30am on Sundays there is a Cantonese Service, and at 11am there is the Mandarin Service.
Every 2nd Wednesday, at 1:30pm there us the Traditional Lord's Supper at the Church.
