"A man known for devotion to his community and involvement with youth sports will be remembered Friday at Recreation Park in Binghamton. Family and friends of the late Michael Battaglino will gather for a 2:30 p.m. ceremony during which a scoreboard in his name will be unveiled at Sheehan Field — where Mr. Battaglino formerly coached youth baseball....Gouldin was a member of a committee that spearheaded fundraising efforts which he said generated about $19,000 earmarked for the scoreboard as well as refurbishment of the field’s dugouts. Gouldin formerly coached Babe Ruth baseball with Mr. Battaglino at Sheehan Field...As an ardent supporter of his children’s athletic activities, he was a fixture at local Little League and Babe Ruth baseball fields and also coached youth soccer...He was better than one in a million. Maybe the nicest man I have ever known.”"
