Located in the NW corner of Bellfountain Cemetery is the grave of Cora Elma Mathews. A grave marker in front of her headstone notes her birth on 1/28/1906 and her death on 8/22/2006. She is buried next to her husband, Edward R. Mathews which also contains an inscription above his name that reads 'Brother Roscoe.' Findagrave.com lists Cora as having a son, Melvin Lee Mathews, who lived from 1928 to 2003. Cora outlived her son. Here son Melvin's obituary states that his family moved west when he was approximately 7 years old. They lived in Washington and California before settling in Oregon in 1951. It also states that he had two brothers, Alfred Mathews of Sequim, Wash., and William "Dub" Mathews of Crooked River Ranch; and three sisters, Vivian Hinebaugh of Hillsboro, Georgia Pelletier of McMinnville and Glenna Sterett of Salem.
