The Schulter school campus was constructed in 1937 as a WPA project. The campus consists of a classroom building, a home economic building, a gymnasium and a privy. This bell is located in a gazebo off the southeast corner of the Home Ec building.
The bell is painted silver and attached to metal pipes mounted to its yoke. The yoke of the bell reads: "American Bell Foundry / Northville, Mich." and we assume it is the bell which rung at an older schoolhouse which was replaced in 1937. The American Bell Foundry operated from 1896 to 1920.
