Kríž nese jméno podle posledního majitele pozemku Jana Kafky (Raškovice 73), na kterém stojí. Historikové však uvádí, že puvodne se jednalo o kríži Kanokuv. Antonín Kanok byl posledním fojtem v Raškovicích pred zrušením roboty.
