The Dewar Town Hall is located at 105 N. Broadway. This is a one-story brick building with a wood board facade. he building has a flat canopy with benches out front.
The town of Dewar was established in 1909 by workers on the Missouri, Oklahoma & Gulf Railroad. The town hit its population peak of 1558 in 1920, and was active in coal mining and petroleum. In the 1930s and 1940s, the coal mines closed, and oil production was no longer active, and the population began to decrease. The town is incorporated and has a current population of about 870. It is governed by a mayor and town council. The Town Hall is located adjacent to the fire department and the community center.
