The sign says, "Hypabyssal Gabbro: Retrieved from the floor of the Pacific Ocean by submersible Alvin, near hydrothermal vents. Similar tock formations are found near Jerome, AZ, a rich copper mining area dating to the Precambrian era-1.8 billion years ago."
