For a building expressly built to house transformers, there is a bit of extra detailing than possibly expected. On the front of this two/three-storey building there seems to be two separate structures built into one, with very slightly different widths, but there are different heights to the moderate angled hip roofs, by a couple of metres. Both sides have a round, brick edged air duct/vent near the top of the wall, while the right-hand side has a tall khaki roller door. The 'aerial' view shows corrugated iron roofing.
The left-hand side of the front has no entry point, but there are a few shaped hedges across the front. At the ceiling of the ground level is a large rendered section, which details the naming of the structure:
S.M.C.
:ELECTRIC LIGHTING:
:SUB-STATION No 79:
Above that are two hinged windows in a brick arched shape, where the Date of 1916 is placed. On the north side of the building there are three windows on each of the three levels. The whole structure is nicely landscaped, and almost fits into the neighbourhood.
