[FR] Le premier établissement thermal de Vichy portait le nom de Aquæ Callidæ. Dans le Hall des Sources, on peut voir jaillir la « Source thermale Chomel » (43°C), réceptionnée dans un puits en béton de l’époque gallo-romaine. C'est la plus chargée en silice organique. Elle sert également à l'extraction de « sels de Vichy » qui entrent dans la composition des Pastilles de Vichy.
La source Chomel était connue et utilisée à l’époque gallo-romaine comme l’attestent les vestiges (buvette et bains) mis à jour à l’occasion de travaux exécutés en 1944.
[EN] The first thermal establishment in Vichy was called Aquæ Callidæ. In the Hall of the Springs, one sees the Chomel Thermal Spring flowing from a pit of concrete dating from Roman times. It is the richest in composition of organosilicon compounds. It is also used in the extraction of "Vichy salts" which are an ingredient in the "Pastilles de Vichy" candy.
