Miami was founded in 1907 to provide support to the miners working the copper mines in the area. It quickly prospered, providing housing and retail services to the miner's families. As with many mining towns, the boom times are long gone and the town struggles to exist. Many of the buildings in its main shopping area are abandoned. The Real Market building is no exception. Boarded up, with broken windows, pigeons are now the main occupants. The sign still hangs on to the building. Painted green with white letters, the neon tubes highlighted the white lettering.
