The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) and the National Park Service (NPS) developed Nichols Park on a 640-acre plot south of Henryetta from 1938 to 1941. Two of the items constructed were picnic pavilions which are still in use today. Coordinates above are for the pavilion on the east side of the lake. Coordinates for the pavilion west of the lake are N35 24.417 W58.716.

The East pavilion has a gabled, metal sided roof. It is constructed of crudely cut, coursed and rusticated native sand stone. The pavilion is rectangular with large openings on either side. On both ends are large fireplaces.

The West pavilion is slightly larger, constructed with the same materials, but has a hipped roof with composition shingles. Again, two large fireplaces are in use at the ends of the building. Nearby are stone picnic tables and a stone restroom.
